About us

HexColourFinder helps you turn a colour you notice into a colour you can use. Start with a photograph, screenshot or one of our sample images, then pick a pixel and keep its colour code.

Made for everyday colour discoveries

Find inspiration for a presentation, a personal project or your next design. Build a palette, check how text looks against a background, and download the colours to take along.

Simple, local and free

There are no accounts or ads. Image processing happens in your browser, and saved palettes stay on your device. Read our Privacy Policy for details about image URLs, local storage and contacting us.

Colour names are a starting point

We compare sampled colours with 126 curated names using perceptual colour distance. A name describes the closest match; the sampled HEX value is the value to use. Screens, lighting and printing can change how a colour appears.
